Fiscalini Ranch
Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is home to a number of endangered species and species of special concern, offering a wonderful display of nature’s diversity. The most outstanding natural feature is the dramatic ocean bluff that runs more than a mile along the shoreline of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary where you can view migrating whales, elephant seals, and other ocean mammals. The benches located along the trails are each unique pieces of art that offer stunning ocean views. Many trails are cycling-friendly, too!
Local Tasting Rooms
Cambria is home to a variety of wine tasting rooms. The two estate wineries, Stolo Family Vineyards and Cutruzzola Vineyards, grow many of their grapes in town, resulting in unique coastal flavors. Cayucos Cellars, Moonstone Cellars, Twin Coyotes Winery, and Black Hand Cellars also call Cambria home, and each of their tasting rooms specialize in different varietals and blends. 927 Beer Company also offers craft microbrews, including unique seasonal beers and classic staples, from their rustic tasting room.
Moonstone Beach & Boardwalk
Moonstone Beach is a draw for many visitors. As you walk along the ocean, you may notice small white stones peeking out from amongst the pebbly sand. These are the moonstones for which the beach is named. If you head up to the boardwalk, you’ll find sweeping ocean views and lush foliage. You’re not allowed to ride directly on the boardwalk, but you can ride alongside it on Moonstone Beach Drive.
Lunch On-the-Go
There are so many great lunch options in Cambria, and if you’re headed out on a ride without many restaurants, it may be a good idea to grab something in town before you leave. Main Street Grill has tri-tip sandwiches that are lauded across California, as well as other barbecue delicacies. Sandy’s Deli has more traditional sandwich options and a bakery, too. Soto’s True Earth Market is more than just a grocery store—they have a counter in the back with tons of vegan and vegetarian options in addition to some delicious wraps, sandwiches, noodles, and salads. Grab a refreshing beverage while you’re there!
Historic Architecture
As you ride through town, take a look at the many historic buildings located throughout. The Cambria Historic Museum is also the beginning of the Historic Walking Tour, where you can even pick up a book with more information about the background of each building. If you happen to head north on Highway 1, you’ll ride past Hearst Castle, a marvel among mansions built by media mogul William Randolph Hearst. You’ll also pass by the Piedras Blancas Light Station, former home of the Fresnel lens you may have seen in town.
